


Amidst the Coronavirus Pandemic when everyone is doing their bit to fight against Coronavirus Pandemic, Yuvraj Singh adds to the list by pledging to contribute 50 lakhs to PM-CARES fund to help the Government in the fight against COVID-19.
Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh on Sunday pledged to donate a whopping 50 lakhs to PM-CARES fund and he also urged the people to follow the appeal of PM Narendra Modi to switch off the lights and lit diyas and candles on Sunday at 9 pm for 9 minutes and show solidarity in the fight against COVID-19.
Yuvraj Singh on Sunday took to his twitter handle and wrote, “Together when we stand united we are stronger, today I will be lighting a candle at 9 pm for 9 minutes. Are you all with me? On this great day of solidarity, I pledge to donate Rs 50 Lakhs to the #PMCARESfund. Please do your bit too! @narendramodi #9pm9minutes #IndiaFightsCorona”.
After the establishment of the PM-CARES Fund by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, several athletes have come forward to donate and help the country to fight against COVID-19.
In a video message, Prime Minister Modi earlier on Friday appealed the citizens to turn off all the lights in their houses at 9 pm on Sunday i.e 5th April and stand at their doors or windows with a candle, Diya and torch for 9 minutes to show solidarity with each other & to indicate that we all are united in the battle against the COVID-19
This event is in succession to the ‘Taali, Thali’ event that was held on March 22nd on the ‘Janta Curfew’ day which was observed by the whole nation as an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. During ‘Janta Curfew’ also PM Modi has reminded people to stand their balconies or terrace and clap to express thanks & gratitude to all the workers who are working in frontline 24/7 to fight the COVID-19.
The total number of positive cases in India rose to 3,374 on Sunday, out of these cases, 3030 are active COVID-19 cases, 267 have been cured or discharged, while 77 deaths have been reported till date.
