Emerging Indian batsman Yashaswi Singh has once again fetched another scintillating record by scoring the most runs by any uncapped player in a single season in the history of the Indian Premier League. Jaiswal has been contemplating and consistent in the ongoing edition of the championship.
Jaiswal has added another feather to his cap as he edged past Australia’s Shaun Marsh who previously held the record for scoring 616 runs in a single season. Yashasvi scored a crucial 50-run knock in Rajasthan’s final pool stage fixture against Punjab Kings last evening in Dharamsala. This took his tally of runs to 625 and he also remains the second in the race of the Orange Cap.
Unfortunately, the Rajasthan Royals campaign could come to an end if either Mumbai or Bangalore seizes a victory and this will shatter the dream of Yashasvi who would have definitely been the frontrunner to grab the prestigious Orange Cap.
Yashaswi Jaiswal breaks Shaun Marsh’s record of highest runs by an Uncapped Player
Shaun Marsh had set a unique record back in the inaugural season of IPL 2008. Marsh’s exceptional stint helped him knock on the doors of Australia’s selection committee and he subsequently made his national debut. Yashasvi Jaiswal has also alarmed the BCCI who will now consider his inclusion in the white-ball formats. Jaiswal is a terrific opening batsman and he has consistently amassed runs at an average of 48.07 and a strike rate of 163.61 during the ongoing edition of Tata IPL 2023.
Apart from the record to score the most runs by any uncapped batsman in a single season of IPL, Jaiswal had previously impressed everyone by powering an explosive knock. Jaiswal scored a thundering half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders in only 13 balls and the youngster slammed another record of smashing the fastest half-century in IPL.
Jaiswal’s phenomenal talent has been highly backed by Rajasthan. He smartly supported Devdutt Padikkal last night as the two staged a clinical victory for Rajasthan against Punjab Kings on their home soil. Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag also played vital roles whereas Navdeep Saini led the incredible bowling attack.
