Indian Cricketers Virat Kohli & Zaheer Khan used their Twitter handle to pay tribute to the selfless service of Maharashtra Police with a brilliant gesture.
Indian Captain Virat Kohli & former fast bowler Zaheer Khan changed their profile picture of Twitter to the official logo of Maharashtra Police as a heartily tribute to the hard work of police force in these crisis situations. “Maharashtra Police has strongly stood by citizens through calamities, attacks 7 disasters. Today as they are leading the war against Corona on the streets, I have decided to celebrate them by changing my DP here on Twitter to the Official Maharashtra Police Logo”, Kohli tweeted and & requested his fans to follow the move. “Join me in this lovely endeavor”, wrote Kohli.
Zaheer Khan also took to his Twitter handle & changed his profile picture to Maharashtra Police Logo & captioned the post as “#NewProfilePic”.
Former India fast bowler Ajit Agarkar also changed his Twitter profile picture to the logo of Maharashtra Police. Kohli & his wife Anushka Sharma have donated Rs 5 Lakh each for the welfare of the personnel of Mumbai Police.
“Thank you @imVKohli & @AnushkaSharma for contributing Rs 5 Lakhs each towards the welfare of Mumbai police Personnel. Your contribution will help to safeguard the life of the personnel who are at the frontline in the fight against Coronavirus. #MumbaiPoliceFoundation”, Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh tweeted on Saturday.
Maharashtra has the highest number of cases in the country. The state has recorded 20,228 cases till date, & India has a total number of cases close to 63,000.
Kohli had also shared a video message acknowledging the efforts of Delhi Police during the lockdown for doing their duty as well as providing food to the needy people in these tough times of crisis.
Kohli has been urging his followers to follow the guidelines of lockdown strictly & maintain social distancing as the country continues the fight against Coronavirus.
