


In an action during an encounter in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kupwara district, on Sunday two senior army officers a colonel and a major were among the five security personnel who were killed. Virat Kohli, the Indian Cricket team Captain paid tribute to the Security personnel who were killed during an encounter with a Twitter post.
Virat Kohli tweeted, “Those who don’t forget their duty in any circumstances are true heroes. Their sacrifices must not be forgotten. I bow my head to the army personnel and the policemen who lost their lives at Handwara and sincerely send my condolences to their families and wish them peace. Jai Hind”.
The action began in Kupwara district in Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday & continued till late night. Two senior officers a colonel and a major were among the five security personnel who were killed in the encounter.
A joint anti-terrorist operation was carried by the armed forces and the J & K Police was carried out in the Handwara area of the district in North Kashmir which was 70 Km from Captial city Srinagar an official statement said. The five-member team rescued several civilians and two terrorists were killed during the join operation. A police officer and two soldiers got succumbed in the action with the terrorists.
Currently, the country is in a nationwide lockdown in order to curb the spread of the deadly novel Coronavirus Pandemic.
