Delhi Capitals Opener Batsman Shikhar Dhawan took his parents blessings before embarking on a two months long tour to the UAE to participate in the IPL 2020.
Dhawan who opened the innings for Delhi Capitals shared a picture on twitter & instagram showing him hugging his parents before leaving for airport. He even gave the picture an emotional caption as he wrote that “there’s no love like the love of your parents”. “Came to seek blessings and wishes from my parents before the long tour. They still see me as a kid. There’s no love like the love of your parents and I’ll always cherish it,” he tweeted.
Delhi Capitals have once again put their trust on Shreyas Iyer to led the squad with his vibrant ideas. Dhawan is among the most senior & experience players in Delhi Capitals which is full of supremely talented young Indian and overseas players like Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, among others.
Like Dhawan another player of the franchise R. Ashwin also parted with his family members before boarding a flight to UAE. Ashwin’s daughters also gave him some safety tips to stay safe during his flight journey. The 53 days long tournament will now be commenced in UAE starting from September 19 & players from different franchises have also boarded their flight for the UAE which will now host the IPL matches having hosted some of the matches in 2014. For the first time in history of IPL, the final will be played on a weekday on November 10.
