Team India received a major injury scare just 24 hours before the WTC 2023 Final against Australia. India’s captain Rohit Sharma was hit hard on the left thumb during the practice sessions in the nets. Team India’s Physio attended to him & immediately Rohit went out of the nets. However, he returned to the nets after some time but couldn’t continue playing & after a chat with head Coach Rahul Dravid he left the net sessions.
The extent of the injury hasn’t been revealed yet & no Official Statement has been made. But as per reports, it’s been said that Rohit will recover till WTC 2023 finals & will be back on the field. Notably, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill & other key batters skipped the optional practice session but Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav turned up and hit the nets. Ashwin in the nets focused more on batting in the final practice session.
Indian team is already reeling with injuries before the beginning of the summit clash as they are already without the service of pacer Jaspirt, Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer & KL Rahul.
