Pakistan seems unhappy with the probably ODI World Cup 2023 schedule as they now want the venue for Afghanistan & Australia fixtures to be held at a different venue. As per the proposed schedule, Pakistan will face Afghanistan at the spin-friendly MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai & Australia at the M Chinnaswamy in Bengaluru. But the PCB has expressed a strong desire to face Australia in Chennai rather than Afghanistan.
The ICC has proposed that Pakistan vs India fixtures would be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. But PCB hasn’t accepted the proposal yet as they need the government’s approval in playing at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This is the reason why the schedule of the marquee event hasn’t been released yet.
Pakistan analysts will revenue the data to finalize the view for ODI World Cup 2023
Pakistan analysts are reviewing venue data & have raised certain concerns. The analysts think that India has purposefully scheduled fixtures at the venues where Pakistan might face difficulties with pitch conditions and practice facilities among others. The pitch in Chennai favors spinners which is a major threat for Pakistan against Afghanistan which has a world-class spin attack. Pakistan has also requested that their matches against Australia and Afghanistan be moved to Chennai and Bengaluru, respectively.
As per the proposed schedule, Pakistan will first play two matches on October 6 and 12 in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, India vs Pakistan fixture is scheduled for October 15 before their fixture against Australia in Bengaluru on October 20. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s fixtures against Afghanistan and South Africa are scheduled to be held on October 23 and 27 respectively in Chennai. They will play against Bangladesh in Kolkata on October 31 and New Zealand in Bengaluru on November 5 before their final group match against England in Kolkata on November 12.
