Amid the Coronavirus Pandemic when the whole world is locked down, Pakistan Players found a new way to keep themselves hooked to cricket through Zoom App. Shan Masood was video-chatting with his teammates when they grabbed their cricket gear & pretended to play a match online on Zoom App.
Getting bored during the lockdown, the test batsman Shan Masood grabbed his helmet picked up his bat & here the Zoom cricket was born. Masood who is 30, was video chatting with teammates when all of them grabbed their cricket gear & pretended to play a match. “A couple of us guys were taking on Zoom and it was pretty late at night when somebody just picked up a ball”, Masood told the media. “He had a ball in his hand & eventually all of us got kitted up & we played a made-up cricket match online”. “So it was quite fun, I had my helmet on, Hassan Ali was seaming into the ball, Imam Ul Haq was fielding & Wahab Riaz was the captain”, he added.
“We just tried and created a funny little incident”. Cricket is on hold during the Coronavirus Pandemic which has created a lot of frustration among the players as well as fans. Masood said that Pakistan’s Squad had been training themselves at home by using staircases & armchairs as gym equipment to prepare for their return to cricket in the post-COVID-19-world.
“Everyone is training, everyone’s been being good and also we have to take into account that this is the month of Ramadan & its harder for us tor train while observing a fast”, said Masood.
“We are hopeful that whenever this ends all the hard work that we are putting in right now pay off, even with uncertainty around and it will be translated into the cricketing performances”, Masood added. Let’s hope that the world gets back to normalcy & we get the chance to witness cricket offline in stadiums & not online by sitting at home.
