Pakistan Cricket Board has released its latest No Objection Certificate whereby all the officially contracted Pakistan Cricketers are entitle to play in a maximum of four foreign leagues, including the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Recently PCB officially stated in a media release that the new policy in their NOC considers the request through the International Cricket Operations Department and the national team management which will carry out its operations with due consistency with respect to player’s workload and International Commitments.
“According to the NOC policies around the world, the Chief Executive of the board will be the final approving authority at the final stage of processing”, said PCB’s media release.
The PCB also stated that the domestic players who are bound by any cricket associations will be required to approach directly to their respective associations in case of NOC approvals in the first place.
“After the first stage, the cricketers are required to take feedback from the cricket operations department before going to the last stage of approval process”.
And all the domestic players who are not a part of red-ball cricket but are a part of white-ball cricket then it is compulsory for them to participate in 50 over and 20 over cricket tournaments in order to be eligible for NOCs the board said.
“According to ICC rules and regulations, both retired and inactive cricketers have to submit NOCs from the PCB for ICC approved events. But PCB will issue NOCs only to players who have been retired for more than 24 months, unless there are more reliable reasons with PCB which they have to give in writing”.
PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan, said that the New NOC policy is quite flexible, balances and comprehensive that address a couple of scenarios that the board will face.
“In this new policy we have given importance to players workload, international and domestic commitments but at the same time it is very important to give players opportunities to make additional earnings and develop the necessary skills”, said Khan.
“We are optimistic that relevant stakeholders will further have clarity and a better understanding of the process. To make sure that we maintain a cordial relationship with cricket boards around the world we will ensure that NOC’s will be canceled if there are any serious concerns or any playing obligations that need to be fulfilled”, Wasim khan added.
