


ECB announced that all the 20 players & 11 management personnel of the Pakistan Cricket Squad touring to England have tested negative for coronavirus after arriving in England.
All the 20 players & 11 management personnel of the Pakistan Cricket Squad which touring to England have tested negative for coronavirus since arrived in Britain, the ECB said on Tuesday. The ECB further stated that the coronavirus tests conducted on England’s training group & management had also fetched a complete set of negative results. England players & staff have undergone three sets of COVID-19 tests. The ECB’s announcement followed after a statement from PCB that six more Pakistan players had been cleared to join the England tour after getting two negative results of the COVID-19 tests.
But the other four of the 10 players who originally tested positive for coronavirus last week will have to stay back in Pakistan as of now after failing in further tests.
Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Hasnain, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, and Fakhar Zaman are now eligible to travel to England & join the Pakistan squad that left on Sunday the PCB said in its statement.
“All the six players were re-tested on Monday, following their first negative test on June 26,” the PCB confirmed. However, Imran Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Haider Ali and Haris Rauf tested positive for a second time also. So they will not be allowed to travel to England until they test negative in the other two consecutive coronavirus tests.
Pakistan will play three Test & three 20-20 Internationals against England which will commence from August with the exact dates yet to be finalized. The Pakistani squad which arrived in England late on Sunday have started a 14 days mandatory quarantine period before intra-squad practice games. A 30 players England squad along with support staff are currently in a bio-secure training camp at the Ageas Bowl ahead of next week’s opening Test series against West Indies which will also mark the resumption of international cricket after the lockdown period.
