India’s wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant who has survived a serious car crash accident is recovering at a surprisingly faster pace at the NCA in Bangalore. Even the BCCI & the NCA are awe-struck witnessing his pace of recovery. As per the reports, the BCCI is attempting to fast-track Rishabh’s recovery & is trying to get him ready for the ODI World Cup 2023. However, the chances of completing the rehabilitation on time & making Rishabh available for selection for the marquee event are very less. But Rishabh is leaving no stone unturned to get fit on time as he has started walking without crutches & climbing stairs without any support.
Rishabh Pant is looking largely pain-free & has increased his lower-body & upper-body mobility exercises under the guidance of physio S Rajnikanth. He has previously worked with several Indian players across several age-groups & has been a part of the Delhi Capitals Support staff. Rajnikanth has helped Hardik Pandya to rehbilitate & has also overseen Bumrah & Vijay;s rehabolitation process as well. Another NCA physiotherapist, Thulasi Ram Yuvaraj has been with Pant from the day he was airlifted to Mumbai days after his car crash.
Rishabh Pant is mixing his rehabilitation Process with Aqua Therapy
As per the reports, Rishabh Pant will mix his rehab process with the sessions of aqua therapy, table tennis & light swimming activity. Inorder to keep himself fresh & active Pant has been conducting interactive sessions with different batches of age-group cricketers male & female who ahve been attending training camps at the NCA. These sessions are conducted by NCA Chief VVS Laxman inorder to boost the morale of budding young cricketers.
Notably , Pant has last played during india’s tour of Bangladesh in December 2022. Though staying away from the field is a big disappointment for Pant, he is trying his best to keep himself occupied & positive. Rishabh Pant has also watched the WTC 2023 Final with other Indian team players who are rehabilitatingat the NCA. Prasidh Krishna, Shreyas Iyer & Jasprit bumrah are the other players who are rehabilitating at the NCA.
Shryeas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah to return for Asia Cup 2023
There comes a good news for Jasprit Bumrah & Shreyas Iyer who underwent back surgeries which resulted them in missing the IPL & the WTC 2023 Final & are completing their rehabilitation at the NCA. The medical staff at NCA is positive about the duo’s recovery & are hoping that they will be available for Asia Cup 2023 in September. Bumrah has underwent a surgery for his recurring back in New Zealand in March. Bumrah was last seen in action back in last september in the home T20I series against Australia. He is currently undergoing physiotheraphy sessions but will soon start light bowling sessions which will be increases gradually.
On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer who was troubled by a bulging disc in his lower back had to pull out of the BGT 2023 Final Test in March. He further missed the IPL 2023 & underwent a surgery for his lower back in London. The swashbuckling player is undergoing physiotherapy & would hopefully be fit for Asia Cup 2023.
