Ricky Ponting was part of three World Cup Winning Squad of Australia.
In the year 1999, Ponting was part of the winning team. Team Aussie won the World Cup in 1999 under the leadership of Steve Waugh. Australia had defeated Pakistan in the finals of the 1999 World Cup. On the other hand, Ponting had led Australia to win the World Cup title in the year 2003 & 2007.
Australia defeated India in the 2003 finals while Australia defeated Sri Lanka in the finals of the 2007 World Cup. Ponting scored 27,486 runs for Australia in his International Career & also led the country in all three formats. No Australian has scored more international centuries than the former Australian Skipper.
The former Australian Captain is currently the coach of the Delhi Capitals of the IPL & has also played a crucial part in this year’s Bushfire Bash.
