Ravindra Jadeja on Friday took to Twitter to share an emotional message recalling India’s loss to New Zealand last year in the Semifinals of the 2019 World Cup.
In his tweet, Jadeja shared a picture of himself & wrote, “We try our best but still fall short sometimes. One of the saddest days!”. Jadeja was in his best form during the 2019 World Cup series & batted brilliantly in the Semi-finals against New Zealand last year. He made a whopping score of 77 from 59 balls, however, it wasn’t enough to get India to the Semi-Finals as India lost the game by just 18 runs.
Jadeja’s knock was stupendous with four boundaries & four sixes. The all-rounder’s counter-attack helped India to come back on track after losing the top order very early. Jadeja & MS Dhoni managed to stitch a partnership of 111 runs but couldn’t helped India to pass the Semi-finals round.
In the Semi-finals Jadeja was also doing well with the ball as the left-hand spinner took 1 wicket in 10 overs & gave only 34 runs to New Zealand. He has a brilliant economy rate of 3.40. For the opposite team, Kane Williamson & Ross Taylor were the shining stars of the match as they helped New Zealand reach a high target of 239 runs.
Williamson scored 67 runs off 95 balls & Ross Taylor scored 74 runs from 90 balls before getting run out by a brilliant aimed throw from Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja has played 165 One Day Internationals for India and scored 2,296 runs and taken 187 wickets so far.
