Former Indian bowler Praveen Kumar and his son have escaped a serious car accident in Meerut. By God’s Grace, they both haven’t sustained any serious injury. After dropping off his nephew, Praveen was returning home when the tragedy happened in the Pandav Nagar region of Meerut. Praveen’s car was hit by a truck, which resulted in serious damage. The truck driver was then taken into custody by local police.
When the collision occurred Praveen Kumar, a resident of Multan Nagar in Meerut, was driving his Land Rover. The former Indian bowler expressed his gratitude after stating, “Things could have gone far worse. By God’s grace, we are unharmed, and I am talking to you right now. I was driving to drop off my nephew, but a big truck hit my car from behind around 9:30 PM. Thank God it was an SUV, else there could have been a serious injury. I initially thought just the bumper is broken, but the car is in bad condition.“ Praveen Kumar and his son were lucky to escape from the accident unharmed.

Praveen Kumar, who declared his professional cricket retirement a few years back, has remained out of the news. The 36-year-old ended his career representing India in 6 tests, 68 one-day internationals, and 10 Twenty20 internationals in 2012.
Praveen took 112 wickets for India during the course of his international career. Notably, he was a key player in India’s victory in the 2008 Commonwealth Bank Series. He made an impact with his performance in the final matches played in Sydney and Brisbane when he took 6 wickets in 2 games.
