The ECB said that Pakistan players would arrive for the Test series in England on Sunday with a virus testing program in place announced PCB.
Pakistan will arrive for their England tour at the weekend even though various Pakistan players tested positive for the coronavirus, cricket chiefs announced on Friday. The PCB earlier announced that 10 players had tested positive even a support staff member. But the ECB said that players would arrive for their Test tour on Sunday with a virus testing program in place.
It is understood that those who have tested positive & anyone who is doubtful of being positive for the virus will not be allowed to travel, with the PCB due to confirm its advance party on Saturday.
Pakistan all-rounder Mohammed Hafeez declared that he underwent a second test which proved that he didn’t have coronavirus, a day after the PCB said that he was among the players who had officially tested positive.
Mohammed Hafeez described as asymptomatic by the Officials like the rest of those who tested positive for the virus said he had immediately arranged a private second opinion. “I personally went to test it again, along with my family, and here I, along with my all family members are reported negative,” he tweeted.
Pakistan’s not so advance heath system is struggling to cope with the pandemic. There have been more than 190,000 confirmed cases in the country so far, with around 4,000 deaths. Britain has been one of the countries which is the most hardest hit by the virus with more than 43,000 deaths from COVID-19.
Besides Hafeez, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Wahab Riaz, Imran Khan, Mohammad Hasnain and Kashif Bhatti were diagnosed Tuesday as having the virus pathogens. Pakistan is scheduled to play three Tests & three 20 Internationals and the first tests will take place in Manchester in August but the ECB has said that the behind the closed doors schedule would be announced in “due course”.
