MLC 2023: Sunil Narine to Captain Los Angeles Knight Riders

There comes a buzzing update right from MLC 2023! West Indies star all-rounder, Sunil Narine is all set to lead Los Angeles Knight Riders. The Los Angeles Knight Riders Group is owned by the Knight Riders Group. The USA based tournament will be contested from July 14 to 31 across two venues with six teams competing in the tournament. MI New York, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas, Texas Super Kings, and Washington Freedom are the other teams that will compete in the MLC.

Narine & Andre Russell are two notable players of KKR group who will lead LA Knight Riders in the MLC. Meanwhile overseas stars Lockie Ferguson, Jason Roy, Rilee Rossouw, Martin Guptill, and Adam Zampa are other big names who will set the field on fire in MLC 2023.

Speaking about his appointment, Sunil Narine said that he was always keen on representing Knight Riders franchise in whichever league is possible. He has been a part of Knight Riders group since the beginning of IPL. With numerous big names in the squad the prolific players hope that they can succeed in the inaugural MLC 2023.

Knight Riders will begin their MLC 2023 Campaign against Texas Super Kings which is co-owned by Chennai Super Kings, at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.

“I’ve always spoken about wanting to represent the Knight Riders wherever they play. We’ve long talked about coming to the United States and I’m glad it’s finally happening. As captain of this side, I am looking forward to the challenge. There are a lot of experienced guys in this team who I can bounce information off, so it will be an exciting time for us,” the Trinidadian cricketer said in a Knight Riders release.

Phil Simmons appointed as LA Knight Riders Head Coach

Former West Indies Cricketer, Phil Simmons steps up as LA knight Riders Head Coach. While KKR’s bowling coach, Bharat Arun, their assistant coach, Ryan Ten Doeschate, & team analyst AR Srikkanth, will assist him in the MLC 2023. The swashbuckling cricketer has enormous coaching experience in International Cricket & T20 leagues. He has also served as the Head Coach of the franchise twice & coached Zimbabwe, Ireland, and Afghanistan.

Simmons was also appointed as the head coach of Knight Riders Group franchise in CPL named, Trinbago Knight Riders, and also won the title with Barbados Royals (formerly Tridents) in 2019. In 2023, he also coached Dubai Capitals in the first-ever International League T20 (ILT20).
