BCCI’s Secretary has announced the schedule of the postponed India vs Afghanistan ODI series. The three-match ODI series which was initially slated to be played from June 23 to June 30 is now shifted to January 2024. The development is confirmed by BCCI’s Secretary Jay Shah in the Apex Council Meeting to be held in Mumbai on Friday, July 7.
The series has been postponed by mutual agreement between ACB & BCCI. The decision of hosting the ODI series in the January 2024 window was taken in an Apex Council meeting held on July 7 in Mumbai. Shah further announced that the media rights for India’s bilateral fixtures will be finalized & signed by the end of August. This deal will cover India’s fixtures over the next four years.
“The BCCI’s new media rights deal (for bilateral matches in India) will be in place by August-end. It will start with the eight-match series against Australia (3 ODIs before the ODI World Cup & 5 T20Is after the WC)” Shah said.
India Women’s Team Coaching Staff will be confirmed before Asian Games 2023
Jay Shah further stated that the BCCI will reveal the complete coaching staff for India Women’s team before Asian Games 2023. BCCI has further approved the participation of both Men’s & Women’s teams in the Asian Games 2023. This means that the BCCI will send their complete teams for the Asian Games 2023.
“We are going to participate in the Asian Games. The Apex Council has approved the participation of our men’s and women’s teams,” Shah said.
“The BCCI will send a men’s and women’s team for the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, in September-October. Hopefully, we’ll win a gold medal in both categories,” said a senior official of the BCCI.
ODI World Cup 2023 is all set to be played from October 5
The fierce World Cup 2023 is all set to be played from October 5 to November 19 across nine states in India. The cities which will host the tournament are Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. India will begin their campaign against Australia in MA Chidambaram Stadium on October 8 while the match-awaited IND vs PAK fixture will be played on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
