Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma has been going through a lean form in the ongoing IPL 2023. He has played 11 games so far but managed to score just 191 runs. His dismal form can be witnessed in almost every game of Mumbai Indians. In MI’s last fixture against RCB which was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Rohit got dismissed off Hasaranga’s delivery after scoring just seven runs. But despite Rohit’s poor performance, Mumbai Indians chased the target & registered a gleaming six wickets win over Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Speaking on Rohit Sharma’s disastrous form, Jason Behrendorff came forward & backed the captain to get back in form. He also said that sometimes things don’t stand the same but he is doing well in the net sessions & would surely bounce back to form.
“I love the intent Rohit came out with; he sort of stepped down the wicket and took the bowlers on, which was really good to see. He is hitting the ball really well in the nets, but it has not translated well at the moment out in the middle. But, we know how good Rohit is; he is an absolute class player, and he might just need a couple of good shots to bounce back to really good form,” Behrendorff said in the post-match press conference.

Match 54 of the IPL 2023 was no less than a roller coaster ride for fans as RCB could post just 199 runs total on board. Coming to chase the target, Rohit Sharma was dismissed early by scoring just seven runs. However, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar, & Nehal’s sensational knocks guided Mumbai Indians over the line.
Ishan Kishan opened the innings along with Rohit Sharma by scoring 42 runs off 21 balls. But a rare scintillating knock of 83 runs off 35 balls by Suryakumar set the stage for Mumbai’s victory. He got valuable support from Nehal Wadhera who amassed unbeaten 52 runs off 34 balls, winning the fixture by six wickets. The victory helped Mumbai Indians to move up to the third spot on the Points table while RCB moved down to the seventh down at the Points Table with six losses in their kitty.
