


Ahead of England vs West Indies Test series in Southampton, England’s intra-squad practice games have started & the stupendous bowling form of Anderson is giving cricket lovers some snippets of what they will get to watch when International Cricket resumes Next week in England.
Ben Stokes who will led England squad in the absence of England’s skipper Joe Root has successfully captained a side while Wicket-keeper-batsman Jos Butler led the other team. The first day of the intrasquad game was lucky for James Anderson as he showed his exceptional performance by taking two wickets off 18 overs.
Anderson trapped Joe Denly right in front of the stumps with a sharp in swing bowling & picked up his first wicket. The 37-year-old send Dan Larence back to the pavilion just on 58 runs as the right-handed batsman flicked the ball straight to Jamie Overton.
ECB took to its official handle & posted some pictures in which Anderson can be seen along with other players following the new ICC guideline for safety amid the coronavirus pandemic. “It’s different, but it’s back,” England Cricket captioned the pictures on Twitter.
In the practice match, Jos Butler’s side after batting scored 287 runs just for five wickets. James Bracey, 23, was the top run-getter by scoring an outstanding 85. Buttler and Sam Curran were unbeaten on 24 and 15 respectively at the end of first day’s play in the ongoing three-day game.
The first test match between England & West indies would be played on July 8 at Southampton which will also mark the resumption of international cricket since the coronavirus outbreak. The West Indies is scheduled to play three tests & three 20-20 Internationals in England. However, no spectators will be allowed for any of the matches as every game will be played behind closed doors.
