IND vs WI 2023: The Board Control Cricket India has put together an extensive strategy to ensure that the Indian cricket squad is well-prepared for any challenges ahead of their upcoming West Indies tour. Before the start of the Test series in Dominica on July 12, a week-long camp is being held as part of this plan at the famous Kensington Oval field in Bridgetown, Barbados.
The BCCI has made preparations for the Indian players and support staff to meet in Barbados in groups from around July 1-2 in cooperation with Cricket West Indies and Cricket Barbados. Yet since there aren’t many big aircraft that frequently go to the Caribbean islands, getting tickets there has been challenging. As a result, the Indian Test players will travel in groups to Georgetown, Guyana, before going on to Barbados.
In addition to providing the players with useful practice, the camp in Barbados will also include a few matches before the tour starts. Even while these games might not be first-class contests, but are going to provide important warm-up opportunities. Additionally, local players are expected to take part in one or two practice matches with the Indian team.
A CWI official stated that the Indian team will train at Kensington Oval till they are privately chartered to Dominica shortly before the start of the Test series.
Meanwhile, The West Indies team will hold its training camp at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua before leaving for Dominica. Two Test matches will be played during the tour, the second test will be held in Trinidad from July 20–24. The teams will then fly back to Barbados to start the tour’s white-ball round.
