South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt has replaced Alyssa Healy to become the No.1 ODI batter in Women’s Cricket. The South African opener achieved the mantle in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Rankings released on Tuesday.
The No.1 batter in Women’s Cricket is currently leaidng the run charts in the Women’s World Cup with 433 runs & has five fifties registered on her name. Though she missed out a deserving ton in their fixture against Australia, her stunning starts at the top order have helped South Africa to make it to the semi-finals. Alyssa Healy who could score only two fifties in seven World Cup fixtures played has moved down to the fifth position in batters charts. Beth Mooney & Meg Lanning continue to occupy second & third positions in the batters charts.
The Bowlers & All-rounders Rankings list continues to be led by England’s Sophie Ecclestone & Australia’s Ellyse Perry, who has been ruled out of the semi-finals of the Women’s World Cup, due to an injury. The latest Rankings update saw Mithali Raj moved up by two places to acquire number sixth position, thanks to her 68 runs knock against South Africa while opener Smriti Mandhana occupied the tenth position in the batters charts.
In the bowlers Rankings list, Veteran Jhulan Goswami is the only bowler from India to occupy a spot among the top ten while South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail moved up to the third position thanks to her 11 wicket-haul in the World Cup, which are the second-highest in the tournament. Jess Jonassen of Australia stayed second while compatriot Megan Schutt slid down to the fourth position in the ICC Women’s ODI Rankings for bowlers.
In the ICC Women’s Rankings for the all-rounders, Australia’s Veteran Ellyse Perry continued to remain at the top of the list & the other eight players all continue to occupy their current position. England’s Katherine Brunt moves up by two places to ninth position while Jhulan Goswami slips down by one spot to 10th position.
