ICC Board Members met for the second time in the month of June via video conference on Thursday but the decision on the T20 World Cup which is scheduled for October-November was not taken up yet with only the timeline for the Chairman’s election been discussed in the meet.
The ICC is unlikely to decide on the T20 World Cup scheduled in Australia until ICC’s annual board meeting which will be held in the Mid of July, leaving the Indian board waiting to know if it can schedule the postponed IPL league later this year.

ECB Chairman Colin Graves is the first runner to succeed outgoing chairman Shashank Manohar. The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly could contest an election if he is forced into a cooling-off period as per the board’s constitution. BCCI had filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking to amend the rule that will enable Ganguly to complete a full three-year term as a President of BCCI.
After ICC’s previous Board meeting, ICC said that it would “continue exploring a number of contingency plans” over the T20 World Cup 2020 “whilst planning for delivery of the event in the scheduled window is ongoing.”
Cricket Australia commented that going ahead with the ICC World Cup this year amid the pandemic is ‘unlikely’ and ‘unrealistic’. Even the BCCI anxiously awaits a postponement of the World Cup so that it can try & utilize the window to host IPL a Rs 4,000 crore a year property.
The BCCI officials said that even the broadcasters who have the rights for both the T20 competitions are keen that the IPL finds a slot this year.
