There comes a huge blow for the Afghanistan Cricket team as their star player Fazalhaq Farooqi was sent to a hospital for MRI scans. He underwent scans for his calf muscle issue confirmed ACB’s Official. While bowling in the AFG vs BAN third ODI Farooqi suddenly sustained an injury right in the ninth over.
Thus he couldn’t complete his bowling & was forced to leave the field right in the ninth over. Later Farooqi who was awarded as Player of the Match was the wrecker-in-chief by returning with figures 3-24. But Bangladesh could only make 169-9 in their rain-affected fixture which was reduced to 43 overs which Bangladesh won by 17 runs due to the DLS method.
Still, Fazalhaq Farooqi choose to play the second ODI where he returned with figures of 3-22. But ACB Officials said that he could possibly miss the third ODI as he has been sent for an MRI on Monday as they went to get sure from their medical
In the second game, he picked 3-22 but ACB officials said that they have sent him for an MRI on Monday as they want a reconfirmation from the medical team regarding his calf muscle issues.
“He faced some problems the day before yesterday (in the opening game) and as he was finding some problems we send him to the hospital (today),” he said adding that they are hoping that he will play tomorrow (July 11) in the third ODI against Bangladesh.
AFG vs BAN: After ODIs, the action will shift to T20Is
Notably, Fazalhaq Farooqi was bowling in full rhythm during their practice sessions at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Monday and later in the evening was seen leaving the team hotel for his scan. Whether Farooqi would feature in the third ODI or not would be confirmed only after scans. After the conclusion of the third ODI both the teams will travel to Sylhet where they will play two T20Is on July 14 and 16.
