ENG vs IRE Test: England will take on Ireland in the much anticipated one-off Test beginning at the Lord’s Cricket Stadium in London on June 1. The matches will act as a preparatory ground for England who will take on Australia in the five-match Ashes Test series. England & CO will try their best to reclaim their prestige by reclaiming the Ashes 2023 trophy & dismantling arch-rivals attack. England which is known for their ‘Bazball Style’ of cricket has reclaimed their dominance in the longest format of cricket in 2022 by winning back-to-back series. England is marching into this Test series after playing a two-match Test series against New Zealand in February. They managed to win the first Test by 267 runs while they lost the second Test & the series ended in a draw. However, with Ashes 2023 in consideration, they would try their best to win this one-off Test against Ireland & test their bench strength.
Coming to Ireland, this series would act as a major testing ground for their red-ball skills. They are coming into this Test on the back of their poor campaign against Sri Lanka where they lost both the Test fixtures to lose the series by 2-0. It was Sri Lanka who dominated the Irish side by winning the first test by an innings & 280 runs & the second innings by an innings & 10 runs. They failed to chase decent targets set by the Sri Lankan team. So they would try their best to bounce back & give tough competition to the bazball team by winning this one-off Test.
