


Cricket South Africa will have a meeting scheduled on Thursday to plan its course to come back to action. Cricket South Africa’s plan to resume cricket training to train its players have been approved by country’s sports ministry on Monday opening way for the South African team to resume their training.
CSA will have a meeting on Thursday to plan its return to action. The CSA’s focus will be on getting the national men’s & women’s teams back in action though the franchises & provincial players will wait before they can begin pre-season camps. According to media report, a new date for the 3TC competition a format of cricket in which three teams will play in the same game is not expected to start immediately.
On June 20, Cricket South Africa has postponed the Solidarity Cup which was scheduled to be played in the new format of “3T Cricket” from June 27. The board had said that more work is needed for going ahead with the competition & so it was postponed earlier.
Since there has been no cricketing tournaments in South Africa since March 15 since the group stage of the domestic one day cup was completed. The playoffs & finals didn’t take place. Even South Africa’s Men’s tour to India was called off due to the COVID-19 outbreak in March. After the first ODI match called off due to rain in India the team returned back to home.
The team was also slated to play white ball cricket in Sri Lanka which was scheduled to take place this month & T20I trip to the Caribbean league will be delayed by seven weeks. South Africa went into strict lockdown on March 27 which meant the women’s home series against Australia had to be postponed.
