TNPL 2023: Lyca Kovai Kings won the thrilling final at the Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli, claiming their second straight TNPL championship. Shahrukh Khan led the team & with collective efforts Lyca Kovai Kings proved their superiority by defeating Nellai Royal Kings by an incredible 104 runs.
After winning the toss, Lyca Kovai Kings showed off their incredible batting skills by scoring an astounding 205/5. Superb half-century scores from Suresh Kumar (57), U Mukilesh (51*), and Atheeq Ur Rahman (50) lay the foundation for their victory.
In response, an effective Lyca Kovai Kings bowling attack pushed Nellai Royal Kings to battle hard and determine their place in the tournament. In the end, the team was bowled out for just 101 runs in 15 overs.
With this decisive win, Lyca Kovai Kings effectively defended their title and won the seventh season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League. It’s important to remember that the team previously shared the title with Chepauk Super Gillies when the final match was canceled due to bad weather. TNPL 2023 showcased outstanding cricket talent, action-packed matches, and remarkable individual performances.

Shahrukh Khan: 17 wickets
- Shahrukh Khan, the captain of the Lyca Kovai Kings, won the prestigious Purple Cap. He earned the award of being named the highest wicket-taker for the season owing to his remarkable play throughout, taking an incredible 17 wickets.
Orange Cap:
Guruswamy Ajitesh: 385 runs
- Guruswamy Ajitesh, who scored a staggering 385 runs from 10 matches at an average of 64.16 and an incredible strike rate of 163.13, topped the list in the run-scoring for the competition and took home the orange cap. His excellent batting performance included one hundred and three half-centuries.
