Cricket is all set to a part of the Asian Games 2023 in China’s Hangzhou & there are speculations of BCCI sending both men’s & women’s teams for the marquee event to represent India at the prestigious event. The multi-sport event will be held in China Hangzhou from September 23 to October 8. There are reports of Cricket to be played in the T20 format at the Asian Games 2023.

For the unversed Cricket was a part of the Asia Games in the years 2010 & 2014. However, the BCCI didn’t send the Indian team back for participating in the marquee event for the rest of the seasons. Further cricket was left out of the Asia Games in 2018 but now it’s returning to Hangzhou. The Asian Games were slated to be hosted in 2022 but got postponed due to China’s zero-COVID policy.
In the earlier editions of the Asian Games, the BCCI gave its jam-packed pre-decided schedule as the reason to not send their teams for the marquee event. India’s chef de mission for the Asian Games, Bhupender Bajwa came forward to communicate the same with the media.
