BCCI SGM on May 27 to discuss about World Cup 2023

The BCCI has fixed a Special General Meeting in Ahmedabad on May 27 to take some crucial decisions for World Cup 2023 to be held in India. And there are chances that a special announcement about World Cup 2023 Venues will be made after the SGM. One of the five points of the SGM agenda is the “Formation of Working Group for the ICC World Cup 2023” & announcing the venues for the ODI World Cup 2023. Even the members of the organizing committee would be made public after SGM.

So far the dates & venues of the World Cup 2023 haven’t been announced. However, as per the reports, the marquee event will begin on October 5 and end on November 19 with 12 venues across the country zeroed in. The renowned Narendra Modi Stadium will host the final fixture. An Official announcement of the World Cup 2023 schedule will be made soon.

Meanwhile, the BCCI will also announce the formation of a committee for the WPL. The inaugural edition of WPL was held in March by the Governing Council of IPL. Now the BCCI will form a separate body for the Women’s league which will generate positive responses from the sponsors.

“Formation of Infrastructure Development and Subsidy Sub-Committee; Guidelines for Appointment of Physiotherapists and Trainers in-state teams and Ratification of Prevention of Sexual Harassment Policy” are the other items on the May 27 meeting.

WTC 2023 Final Squad to depart in 3 batches

As per the reports, the Indian Contingent for WTC 2023 Fianl will leave for England in three batches. The first batch will depart on May 23 immediately after the end of IPL 2o23 league stage. While the second batch will leave for UK after the first two Playoff fixtures on May 23 & May 24 & the last match will leave on May 30 after the conclusion of IPL 2203 Final on May 28. The BCCI is planning to arrange a practice Test for Indian team in the UK. The WTC 2023 Fianl will be played from June 7 to June 12 at the Oval against Australian team.
