The fields are set & the fans are ready as the much-awaited Asia Cup 2023 schedule will be released on July 14. The fans are eagerly awaiting the schedule of the IND vs PAK fixtures as the two biggies would play against each other in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. Initially, Colombo was going to host the IND vs PAK 2023 fixtures, Dambulla most probably has won the opportunity of hosting the most crucial match of the Asia Cup 2023.
As per the reports, the league stage fixtures between both the arch-rivals would be held in Dambulla. But if the team qualifies for the final then a third venue would come into the picture. After lots of talks, PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf & BCCI’s Secretary Jay Shah met in Durban to discuss the schedule & venues of the marquee event. As per the hybrid model, Sri Lanka will host nine fixtures while Pakistan will host four of them. But the official declaration of the same would be made tomorrow.
Asia Cup 2023 is all set to begin on August 31
For the unversed, Asia Cup 2023 is all set to be played from August 31 to September 17 with the fixtures to be played in Sri Lanka & Pakistan. All the Asian nations such as India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nepal will be featuring in the marquee event. Almost 13 ODI fixtures will be played in the marquee event. Each team will fave the other in their respective groups. And the top two of them will move ahead to the Super Four Stage of Asia Cup. Meanwhile, the top teams of the Super Four stage will then progress to the summit clash. All the fixtures of Asia Cup 2023 will be broadcasted live on Star Sports.
Initially, the Asia Cup 2023 hybrid model was not approved by the ACC & other member boards. But after lots of discussions, the hybrid model was approved with the clause of hosting the fixtures in Pakistan & Sri Lanka. Beginning four matches will be played in Pakistan & then the action will shift to Sri Lanka.
