On day three of the third Ashes 2023 Test match against Australia, fast bowler Ollie Robinson was forced to leave the pitch due to a sudden muscular spasm in his back. Ollie was forced to retire for England for the rest of the day’s play due to the injury.
The English pace attack was on perfection as they wrecked damage on Australia’s batting order. However, Robinson’s unfortunate injury put a halt to their progression.
Robinson already had ankle issues prior to the injury, and this setback just complicates his current problems. The fast bowler got into a verbal argument with Australian opener Usman Khawaja during the first Ashes Test, which led to him becoming the center of controversy.
England would aim to bounce back while Australia would aim to clinch the series
The Australian squad had an uphill battle on their hands as they attempted to establish a big first-inning target. Though, the visitors faced a lot of difficulty due to England’s constant bowling attack. The only significant performance was by Mitchell Marsh, who proved his talent with a remarkable knock of 118 runs.
Stuart Broad was asked to fill in for Robinson on the field since he would be out for the rest of the match. In light of this tragic event, England will need to adjust their bowling tackle if they want to take a decisive advantage over their arch-rivals.
Both teams will be aiming to take advantage and build momentum as the match goes on in the crucial part of the Ashes series.
England will look to take advantage of Australia’s weak batting order, encouraged by their great start, while the Aussies will be eager to recover and quickly dismiss the English batsmen to restore control.
England will be motivated to get past this setback and continue to dominate in the third Ashes Test amid Ollie Robinson’s unavailability suffering to a back muscle spasm since they have a superb squad at their option.
