In order to support the hospitals for treating the Coronavirus Pandemic patients, England’s Jos Buttler has conducted auctioning of his shirt which he wore in last year’s World Cup Final Win.
The 29-year-old wicket-keeper-batsman has played a crucial role in England’s defeat of New Zealand in July. In the match he scored a whopping fifty runs then has batted in the Super Over and running out Martin Guptill on the very last ball of the match. The 29-year-old said he would post the jersey of his final win signed by all the members of the World-Cup winning squad on eBay in order to raise funds for the hospitals treating COVID-19 patients. “All funds raised by the auction will go to the Royal Brompton and Hare field hospitals charity. Last week they launched an emergency appeal to provide life-saving drugs and equipment to help the patients affected during the COVID-19 outbreak”, said Jos Buttler.
“ We are all aware of the incredible job that hospitals, doctors, nurses and the NHS are doing at the moment”, said Jos Buttler. “In the coming weeks and months, healthcare workers will require our support to a greater extent. “To help the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospital with their fundraising effort I am going to donate the shirt which I wore in the finals of World Cup last year that includes the sign of all the members of the squad”. British Television personality Piers Morgan has submitted 10,000 pounds but the value of the star cricketers shirt soon passed the 12,000-pound mark.
The rapid spread of the COVID-19 has resulted in major cricket tournaments been called off along with other sporting events. Due to a whopping rise in COVID-19 cases across the globe, no cricket match will be held in England till 28th May as per the reports.
