


The IPL Governing Council meet is all set to take place on August 2 to finalize the IPL 2020 schedule & to make all other important arrangements for the tournament.
The IPL 2020 will now take place in UAE & all the required arrangements need to be perfect. Talking about the same a BCCI official said, “We are having the governing council meeting on 2nd of August and major issues related to the league will be discussed in this meeting”. Originally the IPL was scheduled to start from March 29 but du to the havoc of coronavirus the tournament was postponed indefinitely however with the postponement of the ICC T20 World Cup, the IPL will now kick-start in the September-November window in UAE.
The Chaiman of IPL Governing Council Brijesh Patel confirmed the schedule of the cash rich league which will start from September 19 in the UAE. On Monday, the Emirates Cricket Board confirmed that it has received the ‘Letter of Intent’ from the BCCI to host the 2020 edition of the IPL.
Giving a little insight about the IPL Governing Council Meet a source within the BCCI said, “Everything will be discussed with all stakeholders as of now can’t comment more but can say that this meeting will give more clarity on the tournament. There are few issues raised by franchises which we will discuss with them and look for a way forward”.
The Governing Council Meeting is also expected to discuss the Quarantine Measures along with the Standard Operating Procedures including bio-training facilities, traveling & accommodation of the players. Other major Issues related with the broadcaster, shifting, and scheduling of the tournament, and DXB app to be downloaded for players and other officials are likely to be discussed as well.
