Both the teams will have an eye on the iconic ICC Women’s T20 World Cup which they will try to win by hook or crook. India and Australia had kick-started the Women’s T20 World Cup on February 21, a match where the hosts suffered their only loss in the tournament. India maintained an unbeaten record in the group stages that helped them enter their first-ever T20 World Cup final despite their semi-final clash against England being called-off without a ball bowled in Sydney. Australia reserved their slot in the Finals against India by beating South-Africa in a rain-affected second Semi-final on Thursday.

Something which is more special about this year’s ICC Women’s World Cup Finals is that Women in Blue has made it to the first time and so the MCG grounds will be almost packed with thousands of fans supporting their favorite teams. Almost more than 75,000 tickets have been sold for the iconic Finals on Sunday. To add some glamour on the pitch, social media sensation Katty Perry will perform in the Finals of Women’s T20 World Cup on 8th March Sunday. Katty Perry will perform on her two songs before the commencement of finals and will return for a post-match concert once the on-field presentations have concluded on MCG Grounds on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Also, the Global music superstar Katy Perry turned up at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on the eve of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 Semifinal to meet the Indian team. The official Twitter handles of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared posts with captions, which read “A social media sensation… and Katy Perry” and “Cause there’s a spark in you” respectively. BCCI’s message is a line from Perry’s hit 2010 song Firework. And the “social media sensation” referred in the ICC tweet is Indian batter, Jemimah Rodrigues.
Talking about the finals If Meg Lanning led team Australia wins the final against India then she could become the third Australian captain to lift a World Cup trophy at home. For Harmanpreet Kaur, it will be her first final as captain of a global tournament. 16-year-old Shafali Verma is the marvelous performer for team India who hit 161 runs in four innings at an impressive strike rate of over 160. Australia will take the field on Sunday without their star all-rounder Ellyse Perry who had suffered a hamstring injury in a group stage match against New Zealand.
The Finals of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup would be a grand affair as we will get to witness the iconic match along with a dose of entertainment with Perry factor setting the pitch on fire!
