It’s time for some power-pack cricket, as Zimbabwe’s first-ever domestic league, is all set to kickstart with zest & peps. Set to kick off in less than two weeks, Zim Afro T10 League will witness five teams competing for top honors in Zimbabwe. Organized by Zimbabwe Cricket in collaboration with T Ten Global Sports, the tournament’s schedule has been officially unveiled today, promising a carnival of cricket like never before.
The Zim Afro T10 League will commence with a glittering opening ceremony in Harare on 20th July at 6 pm local time. The inaugural match will follow at 7 pm local time, featuring a face-off between the Harare Hurricanes and the Bulawayo Braves. The league will showcase five privately owned teams, namely the Harare Hurricanes, Durban Qalandars, Cape Town Samp Army, Bulawayo Braves, and the Johannesburg Buffaloes.
Following the captivating opening day, the Zim Afro T10 League will gather momentum with nine games scheduled over the next three days. On matchdays with three games, the first contest will commence at 3 pm local time, followed by matches at 5 pm and 7 pm local time. Throughout the tournament, six days will feature three games each, while two games are scheduled on the 24th and 27th of July.
Zim Afro T10 League Schedule Explained!
On the 28th of July, Qualifier 1 will begin at 3 pm, pitting the top-ranked team from the league stages against the second-ranked team. The winner of this encounter will secure a spot in the final. Subsequently, an Eliminator will take place, where the third and fourth-ranked teams will battle for a chance to enter Qualifier 2.
In Qualifier 2, the team that lost Qualifier 1 will face off against the winner of the Eliminator, competing for a coveted spot in the final. The grand final, the ultimate showdown, is scheduled for 5 pm local time on the 29th of July, followed by a spectacular closing ceremony. All the thrilling matches will be held at the picturesque Harare Sports Club.
