The ICC gave a brilliant twist to ‘stars Wars Day’ through their tribute video which made fans go gaga over it. In the video the bats were replaced with Ligtsabers.
On May 4 which is celebrated as ‘Stars Wars Day’ by fans of the sci-fi franchise, the ICC shared an outstanding tribute video in which batters were seen smashing boundaries and with a catch, their bats were replaced with lightsabers. “May the fours remain with you”, the ICC gave a smart caption to the video. Right from frenzy scoops by Jos Buttler and Niroshan Dickwella to majestic uppercuts by Virat Kohli & Chris Gayle, the video perfectly captures some lovely strokes, with the lightsabers making the shots look even more attractive & pleasant.
The video begins by featuring Jos Butler walking across the stump to scoop, Wahab Riaz in England’s match against Pakistan in the 2019 World Cup, Kohli is seen playing an out of the world uppercut against West Indies, Oshane Thomas from the same match in the same competition. The video inspired the majority of the fans while others left some ill-mannered comments.
“Defining creativity smiling face with sunglasses. Love the concept of Star War with four red hearts …looking forward for more of this”, one user replied to the video. “Powerful shots”, tweeted another user. “And May the extra four be with England!” another user wrote, this is a sort of cheeky comment which referred to the controversial boundary that deflected off Ben Stokes bat as he tried to make the crease in the last over of 2019 World Cup Final.
“Lightsabers not cutting the ball into two parts still makes a greater sense than England lifting the WorldCup”, tweeted another user. May 4 is celebrated as ‘Stars Wars day’ with the catchphrase “May force be with you” as “May the fourth be with you”.
