The BCCI has appointed the IPL Chief Operating Officer Hemang Amin as the interim Chief Executive Officer of the BCCI.
The BCCI has appointed the IPL Chief Operating Officer, Hemang Amin as the interim CEO of BCCI. “Hemang Amin has been given the interim charge of CEO of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India),” a BCCI source told media. Last week BCCI had accepted the resignation letter of its CEO Rahul Johri.
“Johri had tendered his resignation a few months back and it was accepted by India’s cricket governing body today,” a source within BCCI had told media. Rahul Johri was appointed as the BCCI CEO in 2016 when Shashank Manohar was handling the position of BCCI’s President. Johri had put his resignation papers after the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) had made way for the Sourav Ganguly to become the President of the world’s richest cricket board. But Johri was asked to continue as CEO till the end of his contract which was due to expire in 2021. However, as soon as the BCCI got back his administration Johri was marginalized with his domain of work, including matters related to ICC, being handled by secretary Jay Shah.
The Indian cricket Team has not palyed any form of cricket since March due to the havoc of coronavirus pandemic. The International Cricket returned to action last week after a long four months break due to the pandemic. West Indies defeated England by four wickets in the first test match on the back of Shannon Gabriel’s exceptional bowling performance.
