Hardik Pandya after recovering from back injury has returned to the cricket field with a T20 match in Mumbai. He recovered from injury & returned to the competitive cricket in the 16th DY Patil T20 Cup at the DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai. The 26-year-old all-rounder cricketer smashed superlative 38 runs off 25 balls for Reliance 1 against Bank of Baroda. Hardik Pandya shared the pictures of his successful return on Instagram, saying: “So good to be back out there on the field where I belong. Your support keeps me going.” Whereas Mumbai Batsmen, Shreyas Iyer, and Suryakumar Yadav hailed Pandya’s comeback with heartwarming comments on his Instagram post.
Pandya didn’t accompany team India that toured to New-Zealand for playing test series, where India swept five-match T20 International series, before losing three-match One-day International series and two-Test series. When squad announcement was made, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had said that the all-rounder cricketer Pandya has traveled to London and will be under rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) until he regains full match fitness. Adding to the statement BCCI said, “Team India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the upcoming Test series against New Zealand”. Talking about Pandya’s recovery and returning to the competitive cricket according to the News Agency IANS, Pandya has started bowling at the NCA in Bengaluru as soon as he returned from a check-up in the UK. Speaking to IANS, an NCA source said that Pandya has started working on his bowling in the Academy and will soon be available for the selection soon! The source said “He is back from the UK after a routine check-up and has also started bowling from this week. He should be available for selection soon. Can look at him with an eye on the South Africa series as you still have a month to go for the first ODI against the Proteas in Dharamsala”. India will host South Africa for a three-match ODI series which will commence on 12th March in Dharamsala.
