Umpire Aleem Dar, Pakistan’s umpire runs a restaurant in the name of ‘Dar’s Delighto’ and as a humanitarian gesture, the umpire announced free food for the people who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19 Pandemic. People who are needy can have their meals at his restaurant he announced.
Around 1200 people are tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while nine deaths are reported. Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar in order to help the unemployed people has offered free food at his restaurant in Lahore to help the needy and unemployed people during the novel Coronavirus Outbreak.
Dar released a video message in which he has addressed people and asked them not to panic. He said, “Deadly COVID-19 has spread all over the world and it has also reached Pakistan. Without our help and support government cannot overcome this situation. I request every single citizen to follow the directives issued by our Government to safeguard from Coronavirus Outbreak”.
Dar added further, “During the current lockdown in Pakistan all the people are jobless. I own a restaurant in Lahore on Pia Road and its name is Dar’s Delighto. People who don’t have a job can come to my restaurant and have a meal for free”, The 51-year-old umpire said in his video message. He has been associated with almost 386 international matches almost a huge number which anyone has been associated with.
Former Pakistan all-rounder cricketer Shahid Afridi has also donated disinfectant soap and food to the needy people in Pakistan.
Not only Aleem Dar but also former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has appealed people to help each other without discriminating on the basis of caste and religion during this deadly Coronavirus Pandemic.
Akhtar shared a video on his YouTube Channel in which he said, “It is the time to think for the people to think about not only themselves but also others around. It’s time to be human not to be a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian. During these tough times keep humanity above all the religion and help each other to collect funds”.
Such humanitarian gestures are crucial in these tough times to help the world overcome this deadly virus.
