The ECB took to their twitter handle on Friday & shared a throwback video of Virat Kohli’s dismissal from India’s 2018 tour of England. In the video, the Indian Skipper was cleaned bowled by Adil Rashid & he has a shocked expression on his face after he got dismissed in the third ODI of the three-match series.
“The best ball you have ever faced @imVKohli?” the ECB captioned the video which was quite a heartbreaking moment for Kohli fans. In that match Kohli got was batting & crossed his half-century by fetching 71 runs and was on his way to his 36th hundred in the 50 over format but a dream delivery by Rashid sadly ended the Indian Skipper’s stay in the middle.
In that series, Kohli got dismissed by the spinners in the three consecutive ODIs. In the first & third ODI, Rashid dismissed Kohli while in the second game of the ODI series it was the off-spinner Moeen Ali who trapped the Indian Captain right in front of the stumps. It was very disheartening for Kohli as it was just the second time in his entire career that Kohli got out to spinners in three ODI innings. In 2014, he was dismissed by spinners thrice in three ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Virat Kohli would have been busy playing in the RCB squad in the 13th edition of the IPL league but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the BCCI postponed the cash-rich league indefinitely. Speaking on resuming Cricket behind closed doors, Kohli said that the players won’t be able to feel the same zest & atmosphere as they do when they play in front of a packed house.
