The Pink Army displayed a clinical all-round show to outclass Yellove Army last night in Match 37 of the IPL 2023. With this spectacular 32 runs victory Rajasthan Royals have marched up on the Points table dethroning their opponents Chennai Super Kings. The match was a high-scoring affair with many positives for RR’s young players.
While Yashaswi Jaiswal grabbed the spotlight by smashing 77 runs off 43 balls, the newbie & RR’s designated finisher Dhruv Jurel also managed to get into the management’s good books by playing a quick cameo of 34 runs off 15 balls. His finisher act helped RR to end their innings at a decent total of 202 runs in the alotted 20 overs. After his innings, Jurel dedicated hsi spell-bounding knock to the one & only Dhoni. He said that Dhoni’s presence motivated him to perform well & played fearlessly in front of millions of fans.
“I am fortunate enough to share the same field with Dhoni Sir,” says Dhruv Jurel
22-year-old RR’s new batting sensation Dhruv Jurel revealed that he feels motivated whenever he has MS Dhoni standing behind him fulfilling wicket-keeper’s duties. Not much to our surprise just like millions of people who were present in the stadium, Jurel too is a die-hard MS Dhoni fan.
Speaking about his admiration for Dhoni, Jurel said, “I am fortunate enough to share the same field with Dhoni sir. I have been seeing him playing since I was a child. I don’t feel any pressure. On the other hand, it serves as a motivation. I am motivated knowing that he is standing behind me and watching me. That is enough for me,” Jurel said in a post-match press conference.
When asked Jurel about how he fulfills the finisher’s role & manages to smash every ball for a six. He replied that the role is given to him by the management & so he practices accordingly. He further said that he doesn’t feel the pressure of having fewer balls & scoring big runs. This is because he practices batting 3-4 hours a day & tries to smash every ball for a six. He highlighted that he makes sure to get something from his batting & his mantra is just to bat while every other thing will automatically fall in place.
