


Due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in Melbourne discussions are going on to shift the venue of the India vs Australia Test Series which is scheduled to commence in the end of the year to Adelaide.
According to a report in a leading newspaper, Adelaide is the first preference of the CA to host the December 26-30 marquee fixture. In view of the current pandemic situation in State of Victoria, CA Chairman Earl Eddings has called for an urgent national cabinet meeting next week to discuss different ways for the smooth conduct of the series & avoid losing a whopping 300 million Australian dollars.
The situation in Victoria is not good & there are no chances that the current schedule can go ahead as planned with the state border restrictions in place due to the coronavirus pandemic. Victoria has 13000 positive cases with 170 deaths as per the reports. Adelaide is the capital of South Africa & has reported about 457 confirmed cases with 445 cases being recovered. Cricket Australia said that the existing schedule is subjected to get change.
In May CA had confirmed that India will trip to Australia later this year for four test matches & ODIs. India vs. Australia test series is a much awaited series which is set to begin on December 3 at Brisbane. India is scheduled to play a day & night Test series in Australia as said by the BCCI’s President Sourav Ganguly from December 11 to 15 in Adelaide. The third and fourth Tests is scheduled to be held in Melbourne (December 26-30) and Sydney (January 3 to 7) respectively.
