In reply, LSG got off to a blistering start as Kyle Mayers & De Kock went all blazing guns right from the start of their innings. Quinton De Kock who has featured in this season’s first fixture gave LSG a blastic start along with partner Kyle Mayers.
The pair managed to amass 50 runs off 24 balls & helped LSG to score a decent 72 runs total in six overs. However, the Titans managed to break their chain by dismissing in-form batter Mayers for 48 runs off 32 balls in innings embellished with seven fours & two sixes at a strike rate of 150.00
During the second over of the ninth ball, the swashbuckling pacer Mohit Sharma bowled a slower bouncer which Mayers got a top edge while hitting a pull shot. Rashid Khan showed an aerobatic move by taking a dive from 26 meters but eventually lost control while running & slid. But he eventually took a stunning catch to send Mayers packing. The effort impressed Virat Kohli who didn’t stay behind to applaud the Afghan spinner.
“One of the best catches I’ve ever seen. Brilliant Rashid Khan,” captioned Kohli on his Instagram story.
