RR vs MI: MI Paltan defeated all the odds to win the 1000th IPL game by outclassing the Pink Army in all departments of the fixture. Batting first, Rajasthan Royals managed to post a decent 212 runs total on board. Thanks to the efforts of their one & only Yashaswi Jaiswal when everyone failed he stood up & played a spectacular knock for his team.
Yashaswi Jaiswal rise through the ranks, Scored 124 runs off 62 Balls
Jaiswal first stitched 72 run stand for the first wicket with Jos Buttler. Yashaswi played the role of an aggressor as Buttler struggled at scoring at a steady pace. Soon their blooming stand was broken in the seventh over when Piyush Chawal dismissed Buttler. After Buttler, he got good support in Captain Samson who played a quick cameo of 18 runs off 19 balls. However, there occurred a collapse with Samson (18), and Padikkal (2) getting dismissed cheaply reducing RR to 103-3.
But Yashaswi at the other end was going strong. Jason Holder then joined hands with Yashaswi & the duo stitched a crucial 40-run stand for the fourth wicket. But soon Holder was sent packing in the 15th over in Jofra Archer’s delivery. Wickets kept tumbling at one end but Jaiswal was going string at the other. He fought valorously a lone battle & ended his innings at 124 runs off 62 balls with 16 fours & 8 sixes. It was due to Jasiwal’s efforts that Rajasthan could post a mammoth 212 runs total on board. For Mumbai, the best bowlers were Arshad Khan (3-39) and Piyush Chawla (2-34).

But there came a turnaround for Mumbai with Ishan Kishan & Cameron Green going all blazing guns. The duo added a rewarding 62-run stand for the second wicket to help Mumbai end the power play on a decent note. Rajasthan who were punished for boundaries & maximums finally got some relief when Ashwin dismissed Ishan in the eighth over for 28 runs off 23 balls. Cameron Green then joined hands with Suryakumar Yadav to let the scoreboard ticking before Ashwin struck again to get the prized wicket of Green in the 11th over. Green went back to the pavilion for 44 runs off 26 balls with four fours & two sixes.
