ENG W vs PAK W: The England Women overpowered Pakistan Women in their final pool stage fixture of the ongoing edition of ICC T-20 World Cup 2023. England recorded the biggest victory margin in the history of the T-20 World Cup as they thumped the Women in Green by 114 runs.
Winning the toss at the Newlands Cricket Ground, England skipper Heather Knight made an exemplary decision to bat first. Batting first, England Women recorded the highest score in the history of T-20 World Cup as they put up a massive 213/5 run total in their first innings of 20 overs.
England was off to a sluggish start after losing frontline batters Sophie Dunkley (2) and Alice Capsey (6) in the power play. Danii Wyatt (59) and Nat Sciver (81) then took over the command and powered a fascinating 74-run partnership for the second wicket. Sciver (81) was absolutely thundering in her approach as she thrashed the Pakistani bowlers at a strike rate of 202.5.
Sciver capitalized on her innings and anchored another 100-run match-winning partnership for the fifth wicket alongside Amy Jones (47). With the hammering approach of the two, England Women successfully managed to edge past the 200-run mark.
For Pakistan Women, Fatima Sana (2/44) led the bowling attack and scalped a couple of vital wickets whereas Iqbal (1/41), Dar (1/47) and Hassan (1/37) chipped in a wicket apiece.

Chasing a mammoth total of 214 runs, Pakistan Women were completely destroyed by a decisive England Women’s bowling attack as they managed to score only 99/9 by the end of their 20 overs and thus lost the match by a whopping 114 runs.
Apart from Tuba Hassan (28), Fatima Sana (16), Sidra Ameen (12) and Nida Dar (11), no other Pakistani batter could play a noteworthy knock and succeeded in crossing the single-digit mark.
