DC vs SRH Highlights: A commendable all-round performance by the surging Delhi Capitals side helped them overpower Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 runs in their seventh pool stage fixture at the ongoing edition of the Tata IPL 2024. With this victory, Delhi failed to gain any spot in the standings and stand last but have sustained their hopes of qualification to the Playoffs.
Winning the toss at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner made an exemplary decision to bat first. Batting first, Delhi Capitals struggled to combat Sunrisers disciplined bowling attack and could only post a modest 144/9 runs total in their first innings.
Delhi Capitals were off to a sluggish start after losing Phil Salt (0) in the very first over. Warner (21) and Marsh (25) then settled things down by adding 38 runs for the second wicket. However, wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals as Delhi failed to build solid partnerships.
Furthermore, Manish Pandey (34) and Axar Patel (34) powered a stunning match-winning stand of 49 runs for the sixth wicket. The tail end failed to capitalize on their efforts as Delhi was restricted before the 150-run mark.
For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Washington Sundar (3/28) starred in the bowling attack with a contemplating performance. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (2/11) was also splendid whereas T. Natarajan chipped in a wicket apiece.

Chasing a narrow total of 145 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad was off to a decent start as opening batsman Harry Brook and Mayank Agarwal added 31 runs for the first wicket. Mayank Agarwal (49) stood strong at one end despite wickets tumbling in regular intervals at the other end. Towards the deciding stage of the game, Heinrich Klaasen (31) and Washington Sundar (24) anchored a cameo partnership of 31 runs for the sixth wicket. Unfortunately, their efforts went in vain as Hyderabad was restricted to 137/6 and lost the match by 7 runs.
For Delhi Capitals, Axar Patel (2/21) led the bowling attack along with frontline paceman Anrich Nortje (2/33). Kuldeep Yadav and Ishant Sharma claimed a wicket apiece.
